My Perfume Adventure

Let’s just say I love perfumes but buying them is a real pain. The last time I bought a perfume was a year ago. Actually, I didn’t buy it. It was gifted to me by a dear friend and since then, life has gotten real busy and I haven’t had a chance to go perfume shopping. Perfumes are an investment. Like jewellery and they cannot fail to make you feel like a million bucks and they do cost quite a lot. I get anxious when buying perfumes.
Firstly, the ones I would love to own are rarely available in the country and then you cannot just buy perfume without testing it. What if it made you smell like a dead rat? And if one were to buy perfumes online, you can’t return them if you don’t like it. That means, I might be stuck with an expensive perfume I don’t like. What a waste that will be and really irritating too. But lately, I have discovered a great place to do my perfume shopping and the prices are simply pocket friendly.
I recently ended up buying three bottles of duty free perfumes. Where? At the airport. Delhi’s Terminal 3 at The Delhi Duty Free outlet. Ask me how it happened to me, cautious buyer? Well, I only intended to buy one but I couldn’t decide between two delightful scents, Hypnose and Magnifique from Lancome. The deciding factor would have to be their price but the difference was only about a hundred bucks. What to do???
I like to browse at leisure without being pressured and pushed by enthusiastic sales girls or boys. So far so good but now I really needed a second opinion and this I found in the very helpful young man who was letting me be. He had a great solution and I fell for it. He told me that there was a special offer where if I were to buy any two perfumes, I could get a make-up miniature set for free. Whoa!
Suddenly, instead of trying to decide among the two I already had in hand, I was all set to buy both of them! Before that I did take a look at the miniature set that they were giving me. I absolutely loved it. How fitting! Much like the offer that I got from them. I would have barely been able to buy two bottles at any other store with a great offer. My perfume shopping dilemma has been solved and I don’t want to share my secret but then, it is too good to keep it to myself, so here we go. I can only thank Delhi Duty Free showing me the way and I am hooked. Actually, I can’t wait to get on my next trip so that I can check out new and exciting offers on perfumes, chocolates and all the lovely stuff at the Duty Free outlet again and perhaps, I will be emboldened to check out the liquor offers too?
